No Bake Cookies

Today I made no bake cookies. I shouldn't have. I should be in week 4 of "bootcamp". But between Malcolm's birth and getting sick, I took the week off. I should be at work today, but I wasn't feeling well so I am home alone and let my cravings get the best of me and - Today I made no bake cookies.

It didn’t look like very many ingredients; 1 stick of margarine, ½ Cup of sugar, ½ Cup of canned milk… so I doubled it. Of course then I didn’t have enough oatmeal (6 Cups?) so I did some creative add-in’s; coconut, chow mein noodles and butterscotch chips. All in all it went pretty well until I was spooning them out onto the counter and ran out of space… 4 dozen large no bake cookies! I really only needed one. I could have walked to Wal-mart and spent the $2.50 for a store made box. I should have only made one batch. My kitchen looks like someone has started some Christmas baking.

I wonder if they can be frozen.

and then the pads went floating by…..

All we could do was laugh, no one else was going to clean up the mess – Elliot was only five days old, Steven was at school and the toilet was running over. The book “Twilight” had been left on the ground and was completely underwater. Waves were breaking over the hall carpet and starting to lap into the bedrooms. What were a couple of tired women to do? A hanger under that rubber bulb on a pole thing in the tank stopped new water from joining us; towels in the bedroom doorways helped turn the tide. I started scooping water into the tub with a cup while Natasha called the maintenance emergency number. We scooped and wrung and mopped and laughed until we were drenched and still there was water – water EVERY WHERE !!! Maintenance brought us a shopvac, there weren’t any attachments – just the hose, so Natasha stepped, water gushed around her shoe and I vacuumed around it… step vac – step vac – step vac – laugh, laugh, laugh, step vac – step vac – step vac – laugh, laugh, laugh… We pulled the fans from storage and set them up to blow in the hall, luckily Elliot decided to sleep through it all. By the time Steven got home we had changed into something clean, hung dry towels in the bathroom and eaten a snack. It was harder work than I had done in a very long time but we did our best, and hopefully that was enough…

ouch

Well, dang-it, it just took me 20 minutes to figure out how to sign in and set up a new password. Who knows what the last one was (although I only use 2 as a rule and neither of them worked!)

Now my head is hurting, so I'm going to take some meds and go to bed.

I fancy it has been so long since my last (first) entry that no-one is checking in anyway....

Am I out of my MIND ????

I have a blog! How exhilarating and scary all at the same time...

there are many reasons why I shouldn't have a blog
dyslexia
I work alllll day on a computer
I'm scared to death of writing
trying to put my thoughts into words is like throwing myself against a brick wall,

but here I am sitting at a computer with a blog all my own, whew.

and then I have nothing to say and am wondering what I'm really up too and now I'm going to bed.
